Company 40 Motto - Willing Hands to Save
History
One of the most important organizations in any town is the fire company. Early in the history of McClure a group of interested citizens, concerned with protecting their homes from fire, decided to organize. This took place December 26, 1904.
The first Constitution and By-Laws were adopted January 4, 1905, when the motto "Willing Hands to Save”, was also adopted.
The charter for the company was filed in Snyder County courts June 3, 1932. The first fire truck was voted to be purchased on January 19, 1934 and was delivered on May 14, 1934.
